Settle in and relax, or start exploring the wonders of this incredible city. This evening, meet your fellow travelers in a traditional beer garden, one of the largest of its kind in the world where the liquid gold still flows from wooden kegs.
Saturday Sept. 18
Watch the Grand Entry Parade of Oktoberfest Proprietors and Landlords as they make their way to the Theresienwiese. You’ll have to line up early if you want a seat in Schottenhamel, where the Mayor will tap the ceremonial first keg at noon, signifying the official beginning of Oktoberfest! You have unlimited access to Oktoberfest during your stay.
Sunday Sept. 19
For a look into true Bavarian culture and tradition, one should not miss this morning’s Costume and Riflemen’s Parade. If you lead an alternative lifestyle, you’ll want to check out Gay Sunday in the Bräurosl tent. Don’t forget that Oktoberfest is not only about beer, it is a people’s fair complete with amazing carnival rides and attractions, surrounded by a city rich with history.
Monday Sept. 20
If you feel like getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city and the Oktoberfest madness, perhaps an excursion to Berchtesgaden and Eagle’s Nest is just what you need. Built while the world was enduring a different kind of madness, Hitler’s retreat and the Nazi’s mountaintop lodge will astound you with some of Germany’s most awe-inspiring views of the Alps. But if world history is not your thing, there is more than enough fun to be had back in Munich at the Oktoberfest. Get a glimpse of how precision autos are made when you join us this afternoon for a private tour of the BMW Welt & Factory.
Tuesday Sept. 21
Tuesday is family day at Oktoberfest, where you’ll find reduced prices on food and rides. With unlimited access to Oktoberfest for the duration of your stay, why not check out as many beer tents as possible? Each one is unique in its ambience as well as its menu and patronage. You’ll enjoy an included Bavarian meal in one of the many Oktoberfest Tents either today or tomorrow, depending on availability.
Wednesday Sept. 22
This morning, early birds can join us for an optional private tour of the BMW Welt & Factory. Spend the remains of the day at your leisure or take an optional excursion by train to the fairy tale castle of Neuschwanstein. Perhaps you’d like to travel by coach along the Romantic Road to medieval Rothenburg and Harburg? Of course there is still plenty to see and do at Oktoberfest or in Munich itself. Why not explore the Bavarian capital the best way possible, by bicycle?
Thursday Sept. 23
It’s time to say “Auf Wiedersehen” to Munich as you head for home or move on to another fascinating destination.
