Please note: Not all FAQ's are related to Oktoberfest
Can my group pay separately, stay in the same hotel, & have tent reservations together?
Yes. Give us a Group Name, accommodation level, and how many you expect to participate. When members of your group book their trip, they can add your Group Name to the Name of Tour blank on the Authorization Form; we will handle the rest.
Will I have to make a payment to reserve a trip?
Yes. A 50% deposit at time of booking is required to secure your reservation.
Are dates flexible?
Yes, in most circumstances. Email us the dates and accommodation level you would like. We will make the necessary changes and email you a quote.
Can we purchase additional Oktoberfest Tent Reservations?
Additional reservations are subject to availability and are offered to existing customers first. One reservation is included with each package.
When is final payment due?
Final payment is due 90 days prior to the journey’s embarkation date. Some exceptions may apply.
What form of payment does Spyglass accept?
Spyglass Tours & Events accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and Diners Club cards, as well as personal checks, cashier's checks and money orders.
What information will I receive when I purchase my tour?
When you make a payment, you will receive additional tour information relevant to your tour of choice. Before departing, final tour documentation will include a day-by-day itinerary of your journey, packing and clothing suggestions, weather information, and optional excursion details. Some exclusions or special circumstances may apply.
Will there be penalties if I cancel my tour?
Cancelling confirmed bookings sometimes results in costly fees and penalties. Cancellation fees vary according to itinerary. We encourage the purchase of Travel Insurance to offset these charges and cover any other occurrences while on vacation.
Can Spyglass Tours make my air arrangements?
No, but U.S. customers can book their own flights using our preferred travel agency's interactive website.
Can I use my frequent flyer miles?
No. Accrued miles can only be used by you on a personal level with the airline or consortium. Be aware of black-out dates or any other loophole that may hinder your departure/arrival.
Do Spyglass Tours accommodate triples or quads?
This depends on the availability of the hotel. Typical European rooms are doubles, using two twin beds pushed together for a couple, separated for singles. Triples are usually accommodated with an extra twin bed, although availability is limited. Quads are rare, and are normally split into two double rooms. Be sure to request room preferences far in advance.
Can I arrive earlier or leave later than the group?
Yes. Spyglass will make hotel reservations at the first or last night’s hotel property so there is no worry of changing hotels at the start or end of your trip. Rooms are reserved on a space-available basis, and the cost will be added to your tour price.
Will I be restricted in the amount of luggage I can bring?
Yes. Because of the mobility of our journeys, we recommend no more than one checked bag and one carry-on per person. Checked luggage charges and size restrictions continue to change; check with your airline for specific policies. You are responsible for your luggage at all times. You will be given a list of suggested luggage options prior to your trip.
What identification do I need?
A valid passport is always required for a US citizen to travel abroad. Another form of government issued ID, such as a driver’s license, is also recommended, but not mandatory. Non-US citizens should consult the embassies or consulates of countries they are visiting for travel document requirements.
Will we always eat as a group?
No. You are free to eat when you want and with whom you want. Special occasion dinners are often scheduled in a group setting, but attendance is usually optional.
What about special dietary needs?
Most dining experiences are totally up to the traveler, who can choose the restaurant and cuisine most suitable to their needs. Extreme or very unique dietary requirements should be addressed in advance and can be challenging while traveling. Spyglass will do everything possible to communicate your requests to scheduled restaurants and hotels.
Do you offer private group travel?
Yes. Spyglass Tours & Events encourages group travel on its journeys, whether partial or exclusive departures. To learn more please contact our Group Specialists at 704-392-1002 or e-mail Support@SpyglassTours.com.
How active are Spyglass Tours?
Activities range from a day of strolling through a museum or around the city-center to bicycling, kayaking, and horseback riding. Most activities are geared to people who are used to doing some sort of regular exercise. You always have the choice to opt out of more demanding activities.
Is smoking allowed?
Spyglass Tours & Events is a non-smoking organization; however you are free to smoke wherever smoking is permitted. Many governments around the world are banning smoking in restaurants and other public buildings. Unlike bus tours where smoking is never allowed in transit, our train tours typically have smoking cars or designated smoking areas. For the convenience of non-smokers, we always book non-smoking rooms and train cars. If you wish to have a smoking room or travel in a smoking train car, please make your request in advance.
